The slag inclusion defects in aluminum castings are often caused by improper casting operations. In actual operation, if the furnace material is not cleaned thoroughly or the amount of recycled material is used too much, it can lead to slag inclusion defects. Moreover, unreasonable design of the pouring system, incomplete cleaning of slag in the alloy liquid of aluminum castings, and insufficient standing time for refining and modification treatment can all lead to slag inclusion in aluminum castings, thereby affecting the overall quality of the castings.
During the production process of Dalian castings, a lot of raw materials are required. Including metal furnace materials, refractory materials, as well as casting sand, molding sand binders, coatings, etc. If the raw materials for casting do not meet the standards, in the subsequent production process, it may cause defects such as porosity, shrinkage, or sand inclusion in the casting, affecting the surface aesthetics of the casting, and in severe cases, it may lead to the scrapping of the casting.
Aluminum alloy forgings are objects in which metal is subjected to plastic deformation and compression to the desired shape or force. Forging is one of the important methods of metal plastic processing. This force is usually achieved through a hammer or pressure. By forging, loose porous structures in castings can be compressed and large casting structures (dendrites) can be crushed into small particles, forming fibrous structures.
When the fiber structure is reasonably distributed along the shape of the part, it can improve the mechanical performance of the part. Therefore, the forging strength is high and can withstand large impact loads. The forging process can produce fine-grained microstructure and improve the physical properties of the metal.
Casting is a metal form obtained through various casting methods, that is, through casting, pouring, injection, suction, or other methods, with a certain shape, size, and performance. Commonly used include gray cast iron, malleable cast iron, ductile iron, cast steel, etc., while non-ferrous metals include cast copper alloy, aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, etc.
